I have been a patient of this surgery for many years. The doctors, when you see them, are generally extremely caring and professional. The problem is the length of time to obtain a normal appointment (three weeks in general and more if you want to see a particular doctor). When you have family commitments it is very difficult to keep healthy when you simply cannot get into the surgery in timely fashion: small medical problems can easily accumulate and this, I am sure, happens to others and not just me. You think of attending the surgery with a problem and the wait is so long it is easy to postpone making the appointment - it is not an attractive option either when you know that you almost never see the same doctor. If you have a chronic issue then you have to start over afresh with each doctor. I agree with another patient who suggested that this practice closes its books to new patients, so that it can offer a better service to those it has now. Regarding the reception staff, I find them extremely helpful and pleasant. The premises are kept in very good order and are attractive.

I was asked to make an appointment over an item I requested on a prescription, upon attending the appointment 10 days later, I was told the item was already waiting for me at reception, this in my mind was a waste of an appointment time, and someone could have phoned me to ask me to come and collect it, thus saving an appointment time. I was far from happy with my experience this time

Too long wait for a non urgent appointment and you can rarely see your own GP even if you wait for 3 - 4 weeks. The reception staff are slow to answer door and point you to the website for any information. According to the website: The latest Newsletter was issued for Spring on 14 March 2016 but nothing later. Last Patient Survey was 2013/2014 Results - has tie stood still? LATEST PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP REPORT 2014-15? This does not appear to be a well run practice and feedback to and from patients does not seem important. However, the GP's seem to be dedicated, but the long waiting time helps to explain why many patients go to A&E for consultation & treatment.

Whilst every effort is made to provide emergency appointments every day, trying to establish any ongoing relationship with one doctor in the practice is pretty much impossible. For over a year I have been feeling unwell dealing with various health issues. The one doctor I trust is my named GP but he is never available. I have been seen by a variety of doctors and so, every time I go to the surgery, it is like starting all over again. the same problem occurs with other GPs, when trying to make a connection with them, the follow up is non exixtent. This is frustrating and it adds emotionally to the considerable physical discomfort I am in. Suggestions are made which are not always followed through and it feels there as if there is no cohesion to my care in the response of the medical profession. I do understand the practice must be under enormous pressure to serve an ever expanding need. I have complete sympathy for this but from my perspective the care is at best inadequate.
